Through our Global Missions program, Mercy Dental Missions serves impoverished communities in developing countries where access to dental care is scarce or nonexistent.


Our dedicated team of volunteers will be traveling to Lima, Peru to provide FREE dental care to children and families served by Casa Hogar, a trusted nonprofit in Lima since 1985. Their mission is delivering high-quality care in a family environment centered on the Catholic faith - rescuing vulnerable children and empowering them through Christ-centered education, care, and opportunity. We will be serving both children and adults connected to the local schools and orphanage, individuals who would otherwise not have access to this care.


Every mission trip is an opportunity to bring compassion, healing, and hope to underserved populations. By offering free dental care, we not only restore smiles, but also promote long-term well-being and dignity for individuals and families.

  • What is the Global Mission Trip?

    The Global Mission Trip is part of Mercy Dental Missions’ outreach to provide free essential dental care in communities with limited access to treatment. Our goal is to alleviate pain, restore dignity, and share compassion through high-quality dental care.

  • Who will the trip serve?

    Volunteers will provide free dental care to children and families served by Casa Hogar, a nonprofit in Lima, Peru that has served vulnerable children and families since 1985.

  • Why does Mercy Dental Missions serve internationally?

    Access to dental care is limited in many parts of the world. Untreated dental pain can affect a person’s ability to eat, sleep, learn, work, and live with dignity. Through global missions, we extend compassionate care beyond our local community and help meet urgent oral health needs.

  • Is the dental care really free?

    YES! All services provided during the Global Mission Trip are completely free.

  • What dental services will be offered?

    Services may include:

    • Exams
    • X-rays
    • Cleanings
    • Fluoride treatments
    • Fillings
    • Extractions
    • Other same-day dental treatments

  • Is the trip safe?

    Mercy Dental Missions takes volunteer safety seriously and works with trusted local partners. Volunteers will receive guidance about travel safety, lodging, transportation, local customs, and team expectations before the trip.

  • Who can volunteer for the Global Mission Trip?

    Dental professionals are especially needed, including dentists, hygienists, assistants, and other trained dental team members. Depending on trip needs, there may also be opportunities for non-clinical volunteers to help with logistics, translation, patient flow, supplies, and support.

  • Do I need to speak Spanish to volunteer?

    No, spanish is helpful, but it is not required for the volunteer roles. Bilingual volunteers are especially valuable for patient communication, education, and team support.

  • How do I apply to volunteer?

    Interested dental professionals can complete the volunteer application and send it to director@mercydentalmissions.org

  • When is the application deadline?

    Volunteer applications should be submitted no later than May 10, 2026.

  • Do I need a passport?

    Yes. International volunteers will need a valid passport. Volunteers should make sure their passport is current and does not expire soon after the trip dates.

  • Will dental licenses be required?

    Licensed dental professionals may be required to provide documentation of active licensure and credentials. Requirements may vary depending on the role and local regulations.

  • What expenses should volunteers expect?

    Potential expenses may include airfare, lodging, meals, ground transportation, travel documents, immunizations, personal supplies, and trip-related fees. Mercy Dental Missions will provide specific details as plans are finalized.

  • Can I fundraise to cover my trip costs?

    Yes. Volunteers are able to raise support to help cover travel and mission-related expenses. Mercy Dental Missions can provide guidance on appropriate fundraising language and expectations.

  • What does a Global Mission donation help provide?

    Donations may help provide dental supplies, instruments, equipment, medications, patient care materials, travel support, lodging, transportation, and other mission-related needs.

  • Will volunteers receive training before the trip?

    Yes. Volunteers should expect pre-trip communication and preparation, which may include team meetings, logistics, safety information, cultural guidance, clinical expectations, and packing instructions.

  • What supplies and equipment will be used?

    Mercy Dental Missions will coordinate dental supplies, instruments, equipment, and materials needed for the trip. Volunteers may receive a packing list or supply request before departure.
