PATIENT STORIES
The following stories are from real MDM patients who have agreed to let us share their photos and stories to promote awareness and improve oral health equity for working individuals and families who have to neglect dental care because traditional costs are not possible on their income and budget.
Many of the patients featured below have received additional financial support from our Agape grant fund. Their dental care was made possible by our community supporting each other. AGAPE GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Our Agape Grant Program is a powerful way to extend additional help to patients who are experiencing an abrupt or difficult situation that makes even our reduced fees impossible to cover. This initiative not only expands access to essential dental services but also allows us to extend God's love as we better understand and connect with the personal stories of those we serve together. Join us in transforming lives and creating brighter futures, one smile at a time.
For our existing patients, if you're experiencing a dental crisis and are unable to afford your already discounted care, we want to help. If you're in severe pain and funds are available through our Agape Grant Program, we may be able to assist you. Please review the guidelines below and complete the form in either English or Spanish and send it to info@mercydentalmissions.org.
1) Approval Criteria:
Agape Grants are for existing patients only and are reviewed 1 - 2 times per month. They are not to be used for preventative care. We carefully consider each application and encourage you to share your story openly and in detail due to the competitive nature of the program. Priority is given to the most detailed and compelling stories. If not selected, applications are valid for review up to 30 days.
2) Approval Notice:
Agape Grant recipients are notified via phone or email, if their application has been approved, and for what dollar amount. Once awarded, a video interview is required.
3) Approval Not Guaranteed:
Please note that not all Agape grant applications will be approved. Each application is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
4) Grant Duration:
Once approved, the Agape Grant is valid for six months from the date of approval. Extensions or exceptions may be considered under specific circumstances, but are not guaranteed.
5) Appointment Attendance:
Failure to attend scheduled appointments may result in the denial or revocation of the Agape Grant.
