Dr. Chelsea Kepler

Dentist/Clinical Director

Dr. Chelsea Kepler grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University in 2017. She then completed a residency in general practice at the University of Michigan in 2018. Before joining Mercy Dental Missions in 2020, she served at a community health center in Indianapolis and volunteered at a dental clinic in Amman, Jordan, providing care to refugees.

Beyond her work in dentistry, Dr. Kepler enjoys spending time with her family and their dog, engaging in deep discussions, cooking, traveling, reading, and taking outdoor walks.

Dr. Chris Stevens

Dentist

Dr. Stevens started volunteering at MDM in 2021 and joined the staff as a part-time dentist in 2022. He has been practicing since 1981 after graduating from Marquette University. He has been honored to treat so many individuals over his career in private practice. Dr. Stevens has also lectured nationally and internationally to dentists and other care providers for over 30 years. Moreover, Dr. Stevens has more than a decade of experience in implantology.

Krysta Wetzel

Executive Director

Krysta is a 25+ year veteran of the dental field from a dental lab and dental assisting to dental hygiene, business start-ups, fiscal and operations management, education, and non-profit work. She excels in professional customer and client relations, problem-solving, process improvement, and business management. Krysta is bilingual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. One of Krysta's unique gifts is her heart to see business and non-profit work collide, both globally and locally, to improve lives. She has a creative spark and positive passion for the world of dentistry.

In her spare time, Krysta enjoys family sports activities, running, time with friends, traveling, and being outdoors.

Rachel

Programs and Marketing Coordinator

Rachel grew up in Stillwater, MN, and holds a B.S. in Marketing and Management from the University of Minnesota Crookston. She joined Mercy in November 2023, bringing with her a creative flair and meticulous attention to detail. Rachel's favorite aspect of working at Mercy is aligning the organization's core values with her own and sharing the impactful stories of Mercy's work through innovative marketing strategies. Her creativity and organizational skills play a crucial role in advancing our mission and reaching our community effectively.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Rachel finds joy in playing sudoku, spending time with her husband Jordan, caring for their two dogs, and pursuing her passion for horse riding and competing.

Alan

Office Manager

Alan was born in Neenah, WI, and grew up in Fitchburg. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Economics from Iowa State University. Alan has been a valued member of Mercy Dental Missions since 2018, having previously worked in the same building for two years before MDM moved in.

Though dentistry wasn't his original career path, Alan found his place in the field when a friend’s father needed an office manager, and he’s been a perfect fit ever since. He enjoys being part of the MDM team, especially because of the supportive and dedicated staff he works with each day.

Outside of the office, Alan is passionate about hiking and photography. His love for nature often finds its way into his camera lens, and his photos are featured on the calendar in our office lobby!

Alejandra

Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator

Alejandra was born and raised in Madison, WI, and is proud to call it home. She is committed to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for every patient who walks through the door. Fluent in Spanish, Alejandra plays an essential role in supporting patients who face language barriers. Through translation and compassionate assistance, she hopes to help more individuals achieve their oral health goals and feels honored to support our growing community of Spanish-speaking patients.

Outside of work, Alejandra enjoys spending time with her family, cooking Mexican food, and taking long walks outdoors.

Brooke

Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in the Madison area, Brooke has been in the dental field for nearly 15 years. She brings a warm, patient-focused approach, and is passionate about oral health and commitment to patient care.

Outside of the clinic, Brooke enjoys traveling, catching a Badger or Packer game, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Monse

Dental Assistant

Monse is a proud Sun Prairie native who has been passionate about contributing to patients’ oral health since earning her Dental Assisting technical diploma from Madison College in 2022. She is currently enrolled in Madison College’s Dental Hygiene program and is on track to graduate in 2025. Being bilingual, Monse is committed to bridging language gaps to better serve and connect with a diverse patient community as she advances toward her goal of becoming a dental hygienist.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Mafer

Dental Assistant

Mafer spent five years studying dentistry in Venezuela, driven by her belief that everyone deserves a healthy, confident smile. Her passion lies in providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she meets.

In her free time, Mafer enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her beloved dog, Blue.

Mariana

Dental Assistant

Mariana, plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to both patients and our team members. With a friendly demeanor and a strong work ethic, she helps ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for everyone.

Outside the clinic, Mariana enjoys shopping, soaking up the sunshine outdoors during the summer, and indulging in her favorite food, wings. Her positive energy and love for connecting with people shine through in all she does.
