For years, Jamie has devoted her life to helping others heal.

Since 2013, she has worked at a nonprofit recovery center serving individuals overcoming addiction, walking alongside people as they rebuild their lives and find hope for the future. Her passion has always been caring for others, even when resources were limited and challenges seemed overwhelming.

Like many nonprofit organizations, funding was often stretched thin. While Jamie and her team worked tirelessly to expand services—including opening a much-needed 30-day inpatient recovery facility—financial obstacles made it difficult to keep the program operating. Despite years of dedication and countless hours invested, unexpected funding delays forced the facility to temporarily close.

Throughout it all, Jamie continued putting others first.

Without dental insurance, she postponed her own dental care for more than 15 years because treatment simply wasn't affordable. During that time, she only sought emergency care when absolutely necessary, resulting in multiple tooth extractions instead of restorative treatment.

When Jamie came to Mercy Dental Missions, she wasn't asking for anything extraordinary, just the opportunity to receive the dental care she had gone without for so many years. Through the Agape Grant Program, she received financial assistance that helped make treatment possible and removed a burden she had carried for far too long.

For Jamie, this support meant more than restoring her oral health. It was a reminder that even those who dedicate their lives to serving others deserve compassion and care in return.

Jamie's journey is a powerful reminder that financial hardship doesn't discriminate. It can affect the caregivers, the nonprofit leaders, the neighbors, and the people quietly making a difference every day. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, Mercy Dental Missions is able to ensure that people like Jamie don't have to choose between caring for others and caring for themselves.

Today, Jamie can move forward with renewed confidence, continuing her mission of serving her community while knowing she has been cared for, too.
